THE FACTORY PROJECT & PITTED POST, WY

This concert features two distinctly different communities: The long-awaited epic work, The Factory Project, reflects the story of a community within the confines of a factory. Life, death, work, suspicion, relationships, and more exist in abundance inside an elderly worn-out building.
The Factory Project seems to have a life of its own. It is story based, yet open for abstracted ideas, images, designs, and sounds. It’s intriguing . . . so many possibilities.
We’ve addressed The Factory Project for quite some time and now, finally, we are into production status. This work was initiated by two different solos that Kista created. Then, a third solo was added and it became a 15-minute dance titled The Shades Trilogy. And now, groups of people are intertwined throughout a full-length work reflecting the story of a community within the confines of a factory.
Pitted Post, WY elicits the essence of rural Wyoming: fence posts, critters (in the air and on the ground), sloping hills, grass, sky.... The shared time and space of this community is vast, yet sparse.
Pitted Post, WY began as a movement experience for Kista’s students. Because of their marvelous understandings and performance of the dance, it is now included in the KTI repertory.

KTI has been invited to perform in the Small Plates Choreography Festival in Newburgh, NY.
Exact dates coming soon. Kista Tucker will adjudicate at the American College Dance Association's regional festival.
KTI has been invited to perform in the Small Plates Choreography Festival in Newburgh, NY.
We are creating new work, have several performance opportunities coming up, and need additional dancers. If you are interested in performing with our company here's your chance to demonstrate your readiness.
Our next audition will be Sunday, February 11th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. It will take place at our resident home, The Russell School of Ballet located at 14119 Sullyfield Circle #O, Chantilly, VA 20151. If you are interested in working with our company contact us.
You don't have to bring anything (like a solo) with you to the audition. If you have a resume, that would be nice, but it is not required. Leotard and tights are not required for the audition, but be prepared to discard extraneous clothing as the warm-up process continues. We need to see alignment, but movement is the most important element. The audition will have an improvisational element. Bare feet are a definite plus, but bring socks in case the floor is sticky on the day of the audition. We are not sure sure of the temperature these days, so bring a sweater or something to begin the process until you get warmed up. It's free. Please contact us if you have questions.

This three-day Winter Intensive provides professional classes for students of all ages. Courses include Body Labs, including somatic strategies; modern technique; choreographic insights; ballet; Laban Movement Analysis; Swing Dance; and Issues in Dance. It will be a very full plate.
